Rush – Not Just Car Porn

Another movie I think that was advertised the wrong way. This isn’t just a story about Niki Lauda and James Hunt during the 1976 F1 Championship…it’s a story of competitiveness, and rivals earning respect for each other who take completely opposite approaches to their sport. With a bunch of car-porn thrown in of course. It’s a shame that it’s not doing better at the box office. Hopefully it does better overseas, which I’m sure it will.

Overall the film is very good, well shot, well acted, and should be entertaining. The cinematography was stunning, with terrific visuals. It lacks the feel of an instant classic, and failed to connect my emotions to both of the main characters. In other words, it’s a very good movie…just not a great movie.  Score = 460 out of 575.
