Another Indiana Jones in the Works?

For all that is sacred of my youth, please let this NOT be true. The Telegraph has an interview with Harrison Ford, and he seems to think it could be done, despite the fact that he is now 71 years old.

“To me, what was interesting about the character was that he prevailed, that he had courage, that he had wit, that he had intelligence, that he was frightened and that he still managed to survive. That I can do.”

Of course I’m a huge fan of the franchise and honestly I don’t think I could count how many times I’ve watched Raiders of the Lost Ark. I’m not sure how I feel about another chapter in the series after the disaster that was Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. I was jacked when news first broke of a revival of the series, but I don’t think I can ever forgive George Lucas for the completely unnecessary, Shia LaBeouf swinging on vines through the jungle with hundreds of monkeys scene. I almost walked out of the theatre during that entire fight scene on cars in the jungle catastrophe.

Even more unbelievable is the fact that Skulls managed to gross over $800 million on a $185 million budget. Obviously I wasn’t the only one excited to see Dr. Jones kicking ass again. If George Lucas is not involved with the project at all…then I may see it. George has completely lost his mind in the age of CG, and someone needs to have an intervention for him. He needs to understand that just because anything he’s ever imagined can now pretty much be done in a movie…doesn’t necessarily mean it should be done.

Exhibit A.
